Week 16 Results

Well, I won 2 championships and lost the third.

I'll start with the bad news first:

Yahoo:

My Yahoo team, the Los Angeles Riots, were projected to lose 100.50-112.96.
They actually lost 74.90-100.94.

My opponent had Cam Newton and Arian Foster.

Several mistakes were made, such as starting the Houston defense without Wade Philips at the helm and I didn't expect Tony Romo to be out, leaving the rest of the Cowboys to suffer. I also made the mistake of starting Santana Moss over Jabar Gaffney, who was still on waivers. I also have Kevin Smith and Kahlil Bell on my bench. And if I want to go back even further, I'll still bring up the fact I dropped Victor Cruz months ago. Oh well, live and learn!

Now for the better news: The championships I did win!

CBS:

My team, The Scary One, was projected to win 109-103.
Through a very ugly game for both me and my opponent, I won 85-74.
Only C.J. Spiller scored double digits for me leading up to Sunday night football, as everyone else scored in the singles and by Sunday night, my opponent had me down 73-43. Remember that CBS will automatically give you a 20 point boost for defense and my opponent had the Bears defense in, so he actually had me down 93-43. I thought that even if Aaron Rodgers does well, the Packers would bench him in due time. 5 touchdown passes later, Rodgers shredded the Bears defense enough to allow me to win 85-74!

NFL:

My team, the Vegas Vegans, were projected to win 126.24-96.34.
The Vegans actually won 113.26-93.88 in what was my best game. I had Calvin Johnson, Victor Cruz, Maurice Jones-Drew and Julio Jones, all four helped cover the points I lost out on Philip Rivers and Willis McGahee. Winning this championship made me think about all the moves I've done over the season. I will discuss this more later.

Until then, I'm going to retire with the fact that I was able to win 2 championships in my first year of Fantasy Football!

Week 16 Championships!

Well, I made 3 championships this week.

Yahoo

Los Angeles Riots (7-3) vs Lame Ducks (9-1)

QB Tim Tebow vs. QB Cam Newton
WR Roddy White vs. WR Steve Smith
WR Santana Moss vs. WR Miles Austin
WR Laurent Robinson vs. WR Dez Bryant
RB Michael Bush vs. RB Arian Foster
RB C.J. Spiller vs. RB Willis McGahee
TE Tony Gonzalez vs. TE Rob Gronkowski
K Dan Bailey vs. K Jason Hanson
D Houston vs. D San Diego

Projected Winner: Lame Ducks 112.96-100.50

My opponent has a very solid team and she has only lost once this season...I was able to beat give her her one defeat, with Eli Manning and Darren Sproles icing the win that Monday Night. Now, I have Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez in for Monday Night while she has no one. Chances are, I'll be playing catch-up with her.

CBS Championship

The Scary One (7-3) vs Kitchener Sharks (6-4)

QB Aaron Rodgers vs QB Philip Rivers
RB C.J. Spiller vs. RB Ray Rice
RB Beanie Wells vs. RB Reggie Bush
WR Steve Smith vs. WR Vincent Jackson
WR Demaryius Thomas vs. WR Torrey Smith
WR Laurent Robinson vs WR Anquan Bolden
TE Aaron Hernandez vs. TE Rob Gronkowski
K Dan Bailey vs. K David Akers
D Redskins vs. D Bears

Projected Winner: At this moment, The Scary One is projected to win 109-103, but my opponent has to replace Bolden ASAP. Unless he throws Pierre Garcon in within the next 20 minutes, he will need to make room for a WR. My opponent got off to a rocky start while I started off 6-0, but he was able to give me my first loss of the season.

NFL Championship

Vegas Vegans (8-2) vs. Sons of Silence (8-2)
QB Philip Rivers vs. QB Drew Brees
RB Willis McGahee vs. RB Shone Greene
RB Maurice Jones-Drew vs. RB Frank Gore
WR Calvin Johnson vs. WR Roddy White
WR Victor Cruz vs. WR Dez Bryant
TE Tony Gonzalez vs. TE Jermichael Finley
WR Julio Jones vs. RB Felix Jones
K Mason Crosby vs. K Lawrence Tynes
D Bengals vs. D Eagles

Projected Winner: Vegas Vegans 126.24-96.34, although with Drew Brees on Monday Night Football, I expect the score to be much closer. I have beaten this opponent before, but I think it was a close game as well.

To everyone in their Championship games, I wish you all the best of luck.
And to everyone else playing consolation games, just have fun and finish out the season strong!

Week 15 Results: Playoffs Round 1

Yahoo

My opponent, Ball-Busters, was projected to win 109.77-106.12.

The results, I won 108.58-81.30.

It was a combination of things, such as for my opponent, Wes Welker and Jordy Nelson both had very mediocre games, while Aaron Rodgers didn't quite torch the Kansas City defense, and she went with the Green Bay Packer defense, which ended up costing her points. In return, I had Roddy White who exploded once again. Santana Moss and Laurent Robinson also exceeded expectations. I did make the mistake of benching Darren Sproles in favor of Kevin Smith. I was trying to play the match-up game. But the biggest score went to the Seattle defense, who gave me a 30 point boost.

CBS

My opponent, Winning Like Crazy, was projected to win 115-114.

I actually stunned him 141-103.

Again, I had the Seattle defense here as well, which gave me a 34 point boost. In addition, Aaron Hernandez had an explosive game, Steve Smith put up very good numbers and Demaryius Thomas exceeded expectations. My opponent had Jordy Nelson and Mike Wallace, both who had mediocre games.

NFL

I was projected to beat my opponent, Crazyquilt, 125.46-114.00.

I actually won 96.30-83.56.

My score would have been higher had I started the Seahawks over the Bengals defense. She had Antonio Brown in for Monday Night Football and I sat on the edge of my seat, hoping Brown wouldn't have an explosive game against San Francisco like he had against Cleveland. She also had Welker, Nicks and Gronkowski on their mediocre games.

With these 3 victories, I have managed to make three championship games in Week 16.

And finally, for my consolation game against my friend Rob, I was projected to win 143-120. I actually won 140-104.

Well, I went 3-1 this week, although I had almost gone 4-0 until Seattle let Steven Jackson score.

K Shaun Suisham 11

The Riots are currently in 2nd place but actually have not clenched a playoff spot yet, as there is a possibility of several teams being 6-4.

WR Michael Crabtree 5.74
WR Santana Moss 8.65
RB Darren Sproles 9.35

This line-up may change due to the injury statuses of WR Laurent Robinson and WR Jeremy Maclin. If those 2 are inactive, I will use WR Riley Cooper.

WR Laurent Robinson 10
WR Steve Smith 10
WR Malcolm Floyd 6
TE Aaron Hernandez 8
K Dan Bailey 11

Projection: W 109-92

My playoff hopes are still alive in Yahoo, CBS and NFL. Hopefully I can clinch my berths this weekend!

Good luck to everyone else!

Week 13 Results

Week 13 was pretty much a bad week for me, as I went 2-3 and my Fleaflicker season has come to an end.

Fleaflicker:

London Silly Nannies lost 87.4-101.00, and this team is now finished at 4-5.

ESPN:

Spring Hellions lost 104-165. My friend and opponent, Anthony, had Newton and Helu during their break through games.

CBS:

The Scary One lost 106-122. Steve Smith and the New England Patriots defense let me down.

NFL:

Vegas Vegans

On Monday Night, I was down by 40 points, with only Philip Rivers and MJD left, while my opponent had Antonio Gates and Mike Thomas. Rivers and MJD won me this league 102.36-100.66

Yahoo:

Los Angeles Riots
Even though my opponent was a ghost ship and projected to only score 55.29 points, he had 2 players score 30 points each and had me down around 70-50 by the late afternoon. Luckily, Crabtree's performance brought me back into the lead and Darren Sproles was my icing on the cake as the Riots won 101.68-84.30

Week 13 Line-Ups

Some of my line-ups will be highly controversial, but I'm just going to take some chances this week.

Fleaflicker

London Silly Nannies (formerly the Portland Beavers) 4-4

QB Matt Stafford
RB LeSean McCoy
RB DeMarco Murray
WR Greg Jennings
WR Laurent Robinson
TE Brandon Pettigrew
K Robbie Gould
D Bengals

I changed the name just for fun and in reference to Family Guy. I'm disappointed that this team is not going to be in the playoffs, but I've found that there is very little room for error in this league.

Regardless, this team is projected to win 113.2 to 112.22

ESPN League

Spring Hellions 5-6

QB Philip Rivers
RB DeMarco Murray
RB DeAngelo Williams
WR Michael Crabtree
WR Roddy White
WR Victor Cruz
WR Laurent Robinson
TE Brandon Pettigrew
D Chargers

Like the team above, I'm playing for pride in this league. I've been on a 5 game win streak, but that may be in danger this week, as my opponent and good friend, Anthony, is slated to beat me 150-137.

CBS League

The Scary One (7-1)

QB Aaron Rodgers
RB Beanie Wells
RB Roy Helu
WR Laurent Robinson
WR Steve Smith
WR Vincent Brown
TE Aaron Hernandez
K Dan Bailey
D Patriots

Don't let the record fool you, this team is BARELY getting by in this league, as I've beaten opponents from 10 points to 5 points. My main staples, Fred Jackson, Jeremy Maclin are injured and I was foolish and let go of Decker when I thought Tim Tebow favored Demaryius Thomas more. This team is projected to lose 105-107.

NFL League:

Vegas Vegans (6-2)

QB Philip Rivers
RB Maurice Jones-Drew
RB DeMarco Murray
WR Calvin Johnson
WR Victor Cruz
TE Tony Gonzalez
WR Laurent Robinson
K Mason Crosby
D Patriots

I'm kicking myself that I had Tim Tebow on this team and let him go. Now, Tebow's been outscoring Rivers and I'm left at the mercy of San Diego. My only hope is if the December stride hits and Rivers becomes the Pro Bowl QB he was last season. This team is projected to win 119.28-114.47

Yahoo League

Los Angeles Riots (5-3)

QB Eli Manning
WR Laurent Robinson
WR Roddy White
WR Michael Crabtree
RB Darren Sproles
RB Michael Bush
TE Tony Gonzalez
K Dan Bailey
D Houston

This had been the league where I started out 0-3 and looked like it would be a waste of my time. 5 weeks later and I'm almost in the play-offs. Perhaps one more win will secure my spot. Lucky for me, my opponent may be a ghost ship, as he's left Michael Vick, Adrian Peterson and Dallas Clark in his line-up. At this point, I just want to be in the playoffs. This team is projected to win 88.21-55.29.

So yes, I know I'm taking gambles by trusting in Philip Rivers, Vincent Brown, Roy Helu and Brandon Pettigrew, but I can live with whatever happens. As I said, this is my first year playing Fantasy Football and it's all a learning experience for me.

Week 12 Results

I apologize for the delay, I meant to post this earlier.

I went 3-2 in Week 12.

Results:

NFL League

I lost 120.42-145.14...my opponent had the Ravens D, Wells, Branch and Graham.

Yahoo League

I won 118.34-82.92 and I gave my opponent her first loss of the season.

ESPN

I won 182-114...this is by far the most I've ever scored this season, and I had Robinson, Cruz, White and Janikowski on their best days.

Fleaflicker League

I lost 95.2-106.8 and this team has been eliminated from playoff contention.

CBS League

I barely won 78-73, and this was with Kevin Smith getting injured and CBS locked down the league settings and I could not move Denarius Moore off my roster. I had my chance to take Harry Douglas and didn't act on it. I also left Wells on my bench.

So, now I play 2 leagues just for fun, and I still have playoff hopes for the other leagues.
